Pete Seeger (1919-2014), assieme a Woody Guthrie con cui ha collaborato e cantato fin dagli anni quaranta, è fra i grandi e conosciuti folk-singer statunitensi.
Attivista politico della sinistra americana e uno dei massimi autori della folk music e della canzone di protesta degli anni cinquanta e sessanta, è anche autore di famosi talking blues.
